Information About Alaska

Alaska was the 49th state to enter the Union, which happened in 1959. Most of Alaska is completely uninhibited and probably completely untouched and/or unseen by any human. That being said, Alaska has the highest rape rate in the entire United States. In 2012 there were a total of 24,438 crimes reported in the state of Alaska. Of that 4,347 were violent crimes, 30 were murder, 576 were forcible rape and 3,115 were aggravated assault. There were 20,091 property crimes reported in Alaska as well.
